Emmanuel Nyame tackles youth and innovation in maiden book

Ghanaian advocate, Emmanuel Nyame, has launched his maiden book at the United Nations Head Quarters in New York.

The unveiling of the book titled “Rise Above” coincided with the 2018 session of the United Nations (UN) High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) and is aimed at addressing how young people can overcome their entrepreneurial and career challenges.

The 2018 session of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, which featured participants from 46 countries is a platform that reviews the UN’s Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In a statement, the author, said the book was a valuable tool for change makers who aspire to expand their horizon and perspective on career, innovation and leadership and more importantly it captures the voice of the youth who are creating awareness about the SDGs and its attainment.

He said he was excited about conversations and engagements the book has generated at the forum especially amongst global community builders who are passionately tackling problems around the world.

Mr Nyame whose focus has been on social entrepreneurship and community development believes that global goals are critical to development and more must be done to engage communities to come up with targeted innovative solutions.

According to him he wrote the book to inspire and empower the African youth to challenge the status quo by creating initiatives that will bring about relief to an already constrained job market.

He explained that for the individual to fully appreciate its potential, it is important to be bold and tackle challenges that has held back the development of the country and Africa at large.

“We can either spend time talking, justifying our problems, what would’ve, could’ve, or we can rise above our present circumstances, challenges, and situations, and live to our full potential, ” he added.
